How to wrap with Tenugui

Wrapping a bottle

"Shippou" Marigold Yellow

Process 1
1. Spread the tenugui horizontally, and lay a bottle so that the bottom is at the center of the tenugui.

Process2
2. Lift the near side of the tenugui, and wrap around the bottle.

Process3
3. Place it so that the cloth edges are on top.

Process4
4. Twist the cloth edge on the mouth side of the bottle. Lift the other side and cover it on the bottle.

Process5
5. Tie both ends near the neck of the bottle.

6. Wrap around the neck of the bottle once, and tie on the back.

Wrapping a bottle (like wearing a "YUKATA (浴衣)")

1. Spread the tenugui horizontally, and fold the top edge about 2 cm downwards. Place a bottle on the nearer side from the center of the tenugui.

2.Lift the left and right sides of the top edge. Cross the edges in front of the bottle so as to wear a yukata on the bottle.

3. Twist the both ends and take it to the back side.

Process4
4. Tie the ends at the back of the bottle, and pass through the each side of the knot.

5. Pull firmly on the edges of the fabric and adjust the appearance.

Wrapping a plastic bottle

"Tatezuri" Sappanwood Red

Process1
1. Spread the tenugui vertically. Place a bottle at the top of the tenugui so that the cap of bottle protrudes to the outside of the tenugui.

Process2
2. Fold the near side of the tenugui to cover the bottle. Lift the left and right edges(★) of the bottom fabric.

Process3
3. Tie the both edges(★) twice near the cap.

Process4
4. Insert the left and right fabrics inside, and adjust the shape well. Twist the upper end of tenugui.

Process5
5. Pass the twisted fabric edge under the knot, and make a knot at the fabric edge.

Process6
6. Pull the handle and check that the knot can not pass through.

1. Spread the tenugui horizontally, and lay a box in the center of the tenugui.

2. Fold the near side and far side of the tenugui to cover the box.

3. Lift the left and right ends of the tenugui.

4. Tie the both ends on the box.

5. Twist the fabric edge and pass under the knot several times in the same direction as 4.

1. Spread the tenugui horizontally, and lay a box in the center of the tenugui.

2. Fold the near side and far side of the tenugui to cover the box.

3. Lift the left and right ends of the tenugui.

4. Tie the both ends twice on the box, and spread the tenugui softly.

5. Insert the cloth edges under the knot, and adjust the shape of the ribbon well.

Wrapping a book (Book jacket)

1. Fold the top and bottom of the tenugui so that the length is about 2.8 pieces of the book you want to wrap.

2. Place the tenugui vertically. Place the book by aligning the spine to the center of the tenugui.

3. Fold the towel in half and cover the book. Fold the part protruding from the book to the outside. Do the same to the other side.

4. Unfold it with the folded part fixed. The folded part comes to the back of the tenugui.

5. Put the book outside the tenugui. Fold the top and bottom of the towel according to the height of the book.

6. Insert the overlapped end into the bottom folded back part. Do the same for left and right.

7. Insert the cover of the book into the left and right pocket.

8. You're done.

Wrapping a box of tissues

1. Spread the tenugui horizontally and fold the left and right side. Place a box of tissues in center of the tenugui.

2. Fold the left and right side of the tenugui to cover the box. (Adjust the length of the tenugui so that edges are slightly beyond the take-out port.)

3. Fold the near side of the tenugui to cover the box. Pull the fabric left and right while maintaining both ends of the take-out port.

Process4
4. Do the same to the other side.

Process5
5. On the right side, tie the ends softly. (If you tie it tightly, the shape collapses.) Do the same to the other side. Tightly tie again on both sides.

1. Spread the tenugui horizontally. Place the pot in the center of the tenugui.

Process2
2. Lift the near side and fold the fabric edges inward according to the height of the pot. Do the same on the other side.

3. Wrap with tenugui along the edge of the pot. On the back of the pot, tie the ends of tenugui once.

Process4
4. Twist both fabrics and tie in front of the pot once.

5. Twine the remaining fabric.

5. Twist the both cloth edge.

6. Tie the ends, and insert the cloth edges under the knot.
